The last 2 batches of pecan pies that I made came out runny! Now I'm being asked to make some for Thanksgiving, and I'm so afraid they will.
Was the oven pre heated and hot enough? This happened to me last year and it was because we have a really crappy old oven and it doesn't really.
Q: My pecan pie was a disaster. When I cut into it, the center was completely liquid. I've been following the recipe on the back of the Karo syrup. The only thing I ever had trouble with was my pecan pies would sometimes be runny. That was until I found the secret a couple of years ago.

I followed the America's Test Kitchen recipe exactly, but my pie did not set up properly. Jolenealaka - That seems likely. Q: My pecan pie was a disaster. I've used cane syrups here in South Africa, in substitution for corn syrup, without problems. Collections: Thanksgiving TableNuts for Baking.
